What's On This Week Sep 6 - 12

September's a great month for fans of quality Sci Fi, with Battlestar Galactica Season 3 (in double helpings), and the Battlestar Galactica film, Razor, both screening.

If you love the show as much as we do, this week is going to be great, because they are both showing on SCI FI! Can we get a Frak yeah? Frak YEAH!

Lock yourself into your own personal Viper (Mark II or VII) cockpit and get ready for the pure awesomeness that is BSG, on Tuesday and Saturday.

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA - SEASON 3 DOUBLE EPISODES

What's On This Week Aug 30 - Sep 5

This week kicks off not so much with a bang but a gigantic rolling fireball of drama as the Heroes Season 3 Finale explodes across Australia's TV screens.

It's going to be awesome, and epic, and not to be missed by anyone who loves a bit of a shock, a bit of a twist, and one heck of a cliffhanger.

You'd be clinically insane (Sylar insane) to miss it!

HEROES - SEASON 3 FINALE

Monday, August 30 from 7.30pm

The end of 'Fugitives' will blow your mind. A beloved heroes character will die in one of the seminal moments of this ground-breaking series. Sylar is building up his powers beyond the point where he can be stopped and it's going to take something very special from all the Heroes to stop him. As Fugitives draws to a close, he picks up yet another ability that will see him a hair away from becoming the President of the United States. And a psychopathic skull-dissecting maniac is not the kind of person one needs in a commander-in-chief.

Check Your Facts Online Right Now

Fact: FCU:Fact Checkers Unit is now available on Spectrum.

Fact: FCU: Fact Checkers Unit is now playing every Tuesday night on SCI FI.

Fact: no celebrity is safe.

Fact: FCU is hilarious.

Fact: always check your facts. Or check yourself. Before you wreck yourself.

It's not something that the heroes of the FCU at Dictum magazine take lightly (fact checking that is). Their inspiring quest for more and better confirmation for the outrageous 'claims' made by 'journalists' is what keeps them getting out of bed, changing from pajamas to work clothes, eating breakfast, catching the bus and walking in to work every single day.

What's On This Week Aug 23 - 29

With the final weeks of winter melting away like a a wicked witch at a sprinkler party, it's time for SCI FI to crack open the Australian TV premieres once again.

This week, for the first time in Australia, you can see FCU: Fact Checker's Unit, on SCI FI.

If you've ever liked to make sure that something was right - perfectly right, then you'll be at one with the obsessive compulsive duo of Peter and Brian who make up the elite FCU.

Their first mission involves Bill Murray. The real Bill Murray.

What's On This Week Aug 16 - 22

Who are you voting for this weekend? Morlocks or Eloi?

Sure, one promises a nightmarish underground existence of furry fear, and the other a delightful sun-kissed, yet technologically backward platform. It's hard to choose. Either way, you'll be stuck in the future. Stuck. No takesies backsies. Unless of course you've got a time machine...

The only way to deal with reality is to head into the unreality of the SCI FI Channel.

We've got the return of the 'unrealist' show this weekend - Steven King's Kingdom Hospital is a making a sparkling return with its as-promised full run.

What's On This Week Aug 9 - 15

This week sees some good news for Sanctuary fans - the Season 1 reboot is switching to double episodes!

Get twice as much Sanctuary, all at once, starting this Sunday the 15th at 6pm. It's the perfect time for the twice as much monster-mashing fun.

SANCTUARY - SEASON 1: Sundays at 6pm.

Missed Sanctuary the first time around? Never fear, Dr Helen Magnus is here! Join Amanda Tapping and her talented cast as they explore the world of monsters that can both help and harm humanity. It's not all kill or be killed - in fact it's far more complicated than that in this sophisticated show about the netherworlds that surround what 'normal' people think of as reality. Join in the fun every Sunday night at 6pm!

What’s On This Week Aug 2 - 8

August starts off with the re-ignition of some beloved shows for you to catch up with for the first time or connect with again after a long absence. Make sure you tune in to SCI FI this week to have a whale (a Star Trek IV whale, always) of a time.

So what do you need to look out for?

DEMONS - Thursdays at 8.30pm

What’s worse than happily bobbing along, minding your own business, and then being told by some geezer you’re the great-great-grandson of Abraham Van Helsing, vampires are real, and you have to fight them?

That Demons are real, and you have to fight them too.

Join Luke Van Helsing, his blind friend Mina Harker and the gruff Rupert Galvin as they fight off the UK’s nastiest supernatural beasties, every Thursday night!

WHAT’S ON THIS WEEK JULY 26 - AUG 1

’Tis the week to enjoy the goodness that only Sci Fi can bring. We’ve a veritable cornucopia of shows for you to enjoy, so much so, that we’re just going to point out that if you tune in this weekend, you can watch Eureka, Demons and Back to the Future.

Sweet.

If you’ve not seen Eureka yet, this is what it’s all about:

As World War II came to a close with mushroom clouds over Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the impact that science and technology would have on the continued security of our world became catastrophically apparent. America nearly lost the race to build the atomic bomb; it could not risk such a close call again.

With the help of Albert Einstein and other trusted advisors, President Harry S. Truman commissioned a top-secret residential development in a remote area of the Pacific Northwest, one that would serve to protect and nurture America's most valuable intellectual resources. There our nation's greatest thinkers, the über-geniuses working on the next era of scientific achievement, would be able to live and work in a supportive environment.

The best architects and planners were commissioned to design a welcoming place for these superlative geniuses to reside, an area that would offer the best education for their children, the best healthcare, the best amenities and quality of life.

Stargate Continuum Director Martin Wood

Martin Wood has been directing Stargate for more than a decade - with forty six Stargate:SG1 episodes behind him, and thirty Stargate: Atlantis episodes under the belt, he was the natural 'go to' guy for the creator and writer of Stargate, Brad Wright, when it came to choosing the director for Stargate's first standalone feature, Continuum.

His career includes working on Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda, Earth: Final Conflict, Jeremiah, and the new SCI FI series, Sanctuary, starring Stargate's Amanda Tapping, where he is also producing and writing. We spoke to him about directing Stargate Continuum - and he had a heck of a time!

What’s On This Week July 19-25

What better way to end the magnificent month of Stargate (used to be known as July) than with the ultimate Stargate experience, Stargate: Continuum?

This is the biggest Stargate adventure ever, a celebration of all things Stargate for the fans, and a stunning time-travelling action adventure for anyone who’s ever never seen SG-1.

With a massive special effects budget, a gigantic fully working nuclear submarine that smashes through arctic ice supplied by the US Navy, an awesome fighter jet sequence and a great story that has an incredible 'what if?' at the heart of it, Stargate: Continuum is classic Sci Fi fun for lovers of Stargate SG-1 and lovers of Sci Fi everywhere!
