Why is everyone so excited about Inception? Because it's a mega-budget ($200m) Sci Fi movie that doesn't insult the audience whilst trying to sell them toys. In fact, it provokes thought - ironically enough, as provoking a thought is the central plot point (or MacGuffin) of the film.

Predators
Starring Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Lawrence Fishburne, Danny Trejo
Director Nimrod Antal
Rated MA
Out July 8
Predators is a movie that you will enjoy, even if you’ve not seen the original. Perhaps, even more so. It’s high-gore, high-octane Sci Fi action that takes itself not quite so seriously that you laugh at it - more with it.
The plot is simple - a group of ‘baddies’ are dropped (literally) into a strange jungle, one by one. They soon find each other and must unravel the mystery of where they are and why they are there.

Variety reports that Twentieth Century Fox is set to to release "Avatar: Special Edition" worldwide on August 27 in a limited engagement.
It'll be exclusively in Digital 3D and Imax 3D.
This new version will include more than eight minutes of extra footage including new creatures and action scenes.
"Audiences repeatedly told me they wanted more of Pandora and wished they could have stayed there longer. So we're making that possible," director James Cameron said.
Will be interesting to see how many DVD/BD incarnations it finally comes out on as well.

Edgar Wright has just uploaded the International Trailer for Scott Pilgrim vs The World on his YouTube Channel and we couldn't be happier.
Although perhaps not quite so happy as commenter Finn Solomon, who wrote this on Edgar's page
"I f***ing love you Edgar Wright. I f***ing love you man. You took what could have been a horrific crappy adaptation of one of the finest independent comic series ever and created this f***ing masterpiece. You sir, are a true professional. Thank you."

By now, you would have heard about The Adjustment Bureau, the new Philip K.Dick inspired Sci Fi film, starring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt, Anthony Mackie and Terence Stamp.
Written and directed by George Nolfi, it takes a short story by legendary Sci Fi author, Philip K.Dick ('Adjustment Team'). Nolfi isn't a household name at the moment, although he does have a Hollywood track record in the script writing business, having written Ocean's Twelve, Timeline, and The Sentinel. He's also done the big-screen version of Hawaii Five-O. As the co-writer of The Bourne Ultimatum, we know he can pull a successful film.

Or should that be: Iron Man Too?
As much as it’s about anything other than blockbuster season fun and earning another half-billion off a franchise, Iron Man 2 is about appropriating identity, with every dude in the film striving to take the place of Tony Stark’s mechanized man. Russian nutjob Ivan Vanko’s mission to kill the arms billionaire seems merely an excuse for him to develop and don and show off his own variation on the suit.
The villain’s patron, Sam Rockwell, lives vicariously through Stark, going so far as to steal his over-the-top stage persona when he unveils his army of Iron Man drones.
Even Tony’s supposed best bud, Lt. Col James “Rhodey” Rhodes, uses the flimsiest of excuses – busting up a raucous party! – to don one of the outfits so he can kick his friend’s shiny ass and take the tech back to the US military.
But why wouldn’t they all want to be the superhero? As the movie takes more pains than necessary to underline in a sequence at the superbowl-esque Stark Expo and then again before a Senate subcommittee, the Iron Man suit has turned Tony Stark into something of a god.

We all know that the only thing wrong with the Indiana Jones franchise is that as cool as he is Harrison Ford failed us by not being a smoking hot French woman.
Happily, Luc Besson, a filmmaker who knows his way around fantastic action (The Fifth Element, La Femme Nikita) just as well as he does femmes fatale (er, The Fifth Element, La Femme Nikita) has rectified the situation with his upcoming slam-bam-all-from-the-ma’am film The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec.
Check out the trailer and see if you don’t agree that Louise Bourgoin looks like one highly addictive brand of heroine.

Excuse me, but aren't there big and rather controversial billboards all around our major capital cities advertising the "staying power" to be had from various sex sprays? Perhaps someone ought to invent an equivalent to be passed around trigger-happy Hollywood. That's because Disney -- following on from Warner Bros. greenlighting The Hangover 2 before the original hit cinemas -- has apparently given the go-ahead to a sequel to Tron: Legacy -- eight months before its December release.
The Hollywood Reporter's Heatvision is exclusively reporting that Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, who wrote Tron: Legacy, have begun scribbling a third installment. As they may have put fingertips to laptop keys as recently as five minutes ago, there are zero details as to plot or characters. Speculation is that it'll be the end-point of a trilogy.

You know, some people skip plan their holidays around the Discovery Channel’s “Shark Week”. And what’s not to love about watching these magnificent monsters of the deep menacing foolhardy divers and making short work of furry seals? The appeal of all things big, white and bitey is the motivating factor behind not one or two but at least three shark movies that’ll probably collide snout-to-snout in theatres next year. One’s from the man who gave us Snakes On A Plane, another is from the chap behind Razorback, and the third comes from the local upstarts who made the very excellent croc flick Black Water.
